Public Works Department

Composed of five divisions; Administration, Streets, Infrastructure and General Maintenance, Sanitation and Parks, the City of New Carrollton’s Department of Public Works provides many of the basic services that affect the daily lives of New Carrollton residents.

Many of these services include street and storm drain maintenance, snow and ice control, back door refuse collection, litter patrol, landscaping, removal of fallen trees and the upkeep of our playgrounds and parks. In addition we also offer a Call a Bus service for our seasoned residents or person with disabilities.

Our goal is to enhance the quality of life for residents, businesses, and visitors, by providing efficient and reliable services essential to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public.

Our mission is to effectively maintain and develop public infrastructure and facilities, while we strive to continuously improve our operations.  In order to productively carry out our mission and provide exemplary services, Public Works must anticipate and respond to forces on a Federal, State and local level. Ensuring a safe and sustainable work environment benefits the employees and the city as a whole.
