If you own/operate a Business and/or a Rental Property in the City of New Carrollton, in addition to the County and State Licenses, an annual City of New Carrollton License is required. 

BUSINESS LICENSE
Any/All business in the City of New Carrollton must be registered, and maintain a valid business license in accordance with City of New Carrollton City Code, Chapter 75: Licenses.

Business License Requirements: To make application for a Business License, complete and submit the following:

• Annual Application and Disclosure Statement (available online)
• Annual Business License fee $110.00. May be paid online at www.newcarrolltonmd.govor by mail.
• State of Maryland of Certificate of Good Standing
• Annual Business Inspection (required before the issuance of any license)

RENTAL LICENSE

Any/All rental property in the City of New Carrollton must be registered, and maintain a valid rental license in accordance with Chapter 89 of the City Code.  There are two types of rental applications.

1. MULTI- FAMILY (CONDOMINIUM) DWELLING RENTAL LICENSE Any property containing 3 or more dwelling units, including apartment building units, and condominium units, is considered a Multi-family property.

   Multi-Family/Condo Rental License Requirements:   To make application for a multifamily rental license, complete and submit the following:

• Annual Multifamily Dwelling License fees $150.00 per unit. May be paid online at www.newcarrolltonmd.govor by mail.
• Application and Disclosure Statement (available online)
• MDE Lead Inspection Certificate and Tracking Number
• Annual Interior/Exterior Inspection (required before the issuance of any license)

  Multi-Family/Condo Rental License Application

   

1. SINGLE FAMILY DWELLING RENTAL LICENSE A single- family dwelling consisting of one unit (two unit duplex) a single unit.  * Zoned R-55: One-Family Detached Residential Single Family Dwelling.

Single Family Rental License Requirements:  To make application for a single-family rental license, complete and submit the following:

• Annual Single Family Dwelling License fee $ 200.00 May be paid online at www.newcarrolltonmd.govor by mail.
• Application and Disclosure Statement (available online)
• MDE Lead Inspection Certificate and Tracking Number
• Annual Interior/Exterior Inspection (required before the issuance of any license)
