There will be two City-wide curbside leaf collections, weather permitting, starting Monday, November 6, 2023.

The City follows a 4-week schedule; after the first round is completed the schedule will start again from week 1 and continue until week 4.

Please DO NOT rake your leaves to the curb box until the weekend before your collection. (Signs will be posted before your collection week)

Please DO NOT block your leaf piles with cars, trailers, or any other large items.

Please remove all debris such as large branches, bottles, & rocks from leaf piles
*Delays due to inclement weather, equipment failure, or the rate the leaves fall may occur*

The City will continue to collect bagged leaves on your first collection day of the week, which is Monday or Tuesday depending on where you reside

REVITALIZATION MASTER PLAN

Improving the quality of life for the city residents continue to be a priority for the city as well, and
a crucial component of the economic revitalization effort Is a strategy to update the city parks. Well-designed and maintained parks offer the city a variety of benefits. Park spaces can provide recreational opportunities, encourage healthy lifestyles, and help strengthen the sense of community and place by providing amenities that encourage interactions between residents. Improved city parks can also aid the economic development efforts by increasing property value and attracting visitors to the city shops and restaurants. The city can also become greater stewards of the Chesapeake Bay and the environment in general by improving its parks. Park vegetation can help mitigate air and water pollution, reduce erosion, and provide habitat for wildlife. Park spaces, with well-placed education signs, can also offer the chance for people to learn about and connect with nature, which can encourage them to become stewards of the environment.
